MONTREAL – Montreal has handed tighter restrictions for short-term leases on platforms like Airbnb in a bid to ease the town’s housing disaster.

Metropolis council adopted a brand new bylaw as we speak to permit folks to lease their properties for brief stays solely between June 10 and Sept. 10.

The brand new guidelines come two years after seven folks died in a fire in an Old Montreal building that had listed unlawful short-term leases on Airbnb.
