Switzerland and the European Union resumed talks on monetary market regulation on Thursday after dialog was suspended in 2017, the Swiss authorities mentioned.
Points referring to monetary market stability, cross-border actions, capital markets, digital finance, cybersecurity, sustainable finance and insurance coverage have been mentioned throughout a gathering in Bern, the federal government mentioned in an announcement.
The resumption of talks comes amid broader negotiations between Brussels and Switzerland geared toward updating financial relations, which the Swiss hope will likely be concluded this yr.
The EU delegation was led by John Berrigan, who heads the European Fee’s monetary providers unit.
He met Swiss officers from the finance and international ministries, the Swiss Nationwide Financial institution and market regulator FINMA.
The Swiss group was led by Finance Ministry State Secretary Daniela Stoffel.
