State Lawmakers Goal PSAOs
After concentrating on pharmacy profit managers for years for contributing to the excessive price of prescribed drugs, state lawmakers have begun setting their sights on pharmacy providers administrative organizations, or PSAOs, which assist impartial pharmacies negotiate with drug wholesalers. Virginia enacted a invoice (HB 2375) final month that requires PSAOs to report their reimbursement charges. Arkansas lawmakers handed a invoice (SB 475) this month aimed toward regulating PSAOs.
