5 folks have been charged in a large-scale insurance coverage fraud scheme involving misrepresented life insurance coverage insurance policies that resulted in fraudulent commissions totaling over $1.4 million.

Daniel Jon Carpenter, 62, of Morgan Hill, was arraigned on felony fees of insurance coverage fraud, grand theft and id theft. Carpenter, a former insurance coverage agent, allegedly orchestrated the fraudulent scheme alongside 4 co-defendants.

Natorae Marie Wettstein, 56, of Rancho Mirage, was arraigned on felony fees of insurance coverage fraud and grand theft. Blake John Carpenter, 27, of San Jose, was arraigned on felony fees of insurance coverage fraud and grand theft. Noah Maxwell Kuh, 26, of San Jose, was arraigned on a felony cost of insurance coverage fraud. Alejandro Carlos, 25, of Gilroy, stays a fugitive at giant and is needed on felony fees of insurance coverage fraud and grand theft.

The California Division of Insurance coverage launched its investigation after receiving a criticism from a shopper alleging forgery and insurance coverage fraud linked to life insurance coverage insurance policies offered by Daniel Carpenter.

The investigation reportedly revealed that Carpenter, together with Wettstein, Blake Carpenter, Carlos, and Kuh, misrepresented life insurance coverage coverage phrases to California shoppers whereas falsifying agent data on coverage functions submitted to a number of insurance coverage firms.
