“The Board of Immigration Appeals welcomes members of the general public to file amicus curiae briefs discussing the beneath problem(s): ISSUE(S) PRESENTED: What’s the scope of the Immigration Decide’s obligation to develop the file for a professional se respondent? See, e.g., Arteaga-Ramirez v. Barr, 954 F.3d 812 (fifth Cir. 2020); Matter of J-F-F-, 23 I&N Dec. 912, 922 (A.G. 2006); Matter of S-M-J-, 21 I&N Dec. 722, 723-24, 28-29 (BIA 1997); see additionally Quintero v. Garland, 998 F.3d 612, 623-26 (4th Cir. 2021) (discussing doable sources of authority for such an obligation). Is that this obligation affected by particular person traits of the respondent, reminiscent of training degree or language skill?”
