Allstate Reviews Second Quarter Pretax Disaster Losses of .1B

Allstate Corp. stated it recorded pretax disaster losses of about $2.1 billion within the second quarter.

The Northbrook, Illinois-based insurer on July 18 stated the full included $230 million of pretax disaster losses for the month of June from 18 occasions—primarily wind and hail.

Allstate reported pretax disaster losses of about $1.4 billion in May from largely wind and hail claims in Texas, Colorado, and Illinois. The insurer beforehand introduced April estimated catastrophe losses of $494 million.
