Marshall Elected Chair of Virginia Employees’ Compensation Fee

Wesley G. Marshall has been elected to a three-year time period as chairman of the Virginia Employees’ Compensation Fee (VWC), efficient July 1, 2024.

He succeeds Commissioner Robert A. Rapaport, whose time period ended June 30, 2024.

Marshall, of Richmond, was appointed to the fee in 2012. He additionally served a time period as chairman from 2015-2018.

The Fee

The VWCC, established in 1918, is an impartial judicial and administrative state company that oversees the employees’ compensation system for workers, employers, and insurers. VWC interprets and applies the Virginia Employees’ Compensation Act and resolves claims via hearings and mediation.

The fee, with a workers of 292, is led by a senior management group consisting of three commissioners, an govt director and a chief deputy commissioner.
