The Allstate Company has printed its disaster losses estimate for Might 2024, reporting a near-tripling in comparison with April.

Allstate’s estimated disaster losses for the month of Might amounted to $1.40 billion (after tax, $1.10 billion). In April, the corresponding sums have been $494 million and $390 million, respectively.

Within the first quarter, pre-tax disaster losses for Allstate have been estimated at $731 million.

For the Might figures, the insurer famous: “Catastrophe losses included 14 events estimated at $1.48 billion, with roughly 70% of the losses associated to 5 wind and hail occasions, primarily in Texas, Colorado, and Illinois.

“Whole disaster losses for April and Might have been $1.89 billion, pre-tax, and whole disaster losses for Might year-to-date have been $2.62 billion, pre-tax.”
