Nephila Capital, the specialist insurance-linked securities (ILS) and reinsurance funding supervisor unit of Markel, has promoted Bermuda-based worker Mark Richardson to the place of Head of Underwriting.
Richardson joined Nephila Capital in 2023, becoming a member of the ILS supervisor as a Senior Underwriter.
Now, in a LinkedIn replace, Richardson has revealed his promotion to a task that can see him taking the lead on underwriting in Bermuda for the corporate, as Nephila’s new Head of Underwriting from this month.
Richardson has been underwriting treaty reinsurance in Bermuda for round seven years.
He labored at dealer Aon in London initially of his reinsurance profession, broking enterprise from massive Japanese property disaster treaties.
Richardson then spent a while in New York for Aon, working with world reinsurance cedents.
He moved to Bermuda in 2018 and spent round two and a half years working as an Underwriter at Fidelis Insurance coverage.
Richardson joined Lancashire Insurance coverage Group in Bermuda in 2021, first working as an Underwriter on the agency earlier than turning into its Head of Worldwide Treaty reinsurance in 2022.
After which he moved to Nephila Capital and commenced underwriting for the insurance-linked securities (ILS) supervisor’s property disaster reinsurance portfolios and funds.
